Where once was the sea, my narrative home

"The water flows past my feet, the wind through my hair. I feel the danger of the wind and the sea and realise how important it is to have a shield around me. I walk back inside where it is safe. Where no water can harm me and no wind can push me away. Around me, I see the ground that protects me from the sea. Safe and sheltered I stand. The ground that protects my piece of land from a raging sea, my place where I can walk, work, and live. Where I can gather with the people around me, who come from all directions. Me on my piece of land.

I'm standing outside, far away from a busy society where everything passes me by at breakneck speed. I'm deep in thought about everything I might experience and everything that might have happened in the past. Here by the water, my thoughts drift along with the unpredictability of the sea. The stories flow in all directions, just like the waves guided by the wind. My stories have free rein in my mind. Everything I see around me offers a narrative that lets me imagine.

With my designs, I want to transport people to the world of stories. The speed of machines and AI makes it harder for people to imagine stories. Yet, people can imagine so many stories, and so many new ideas emerge when you pause for a moment.

In my designs for my graduation project, "Stories of the Noordoostpolder," I want to invite people to discover the story. By truly immersing yourself in the story, you see what it's telling. It's as if you open the book and step into the story."
